"One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.  For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock." Psalm 27:4-5

How beautifully this Psalm speaks to us at this time. Our faithful Saviour has kept Nathan and myself safe, He has sheltered us and set us high upon a rock.  Nathan's life has been spared up to this point and we are ever gracious of this precious gift of life.  The road we are travelling is far from over but even in the dark days we have seen His will and plan at work.  The blessings He has bestowed upon us not only in regards to how Nathan has done but also how as a family we can be drawn together in prayer and song.  We do not understand His master plan but we know it is a beautiful plan.

Nathan's Heavenly Father has spared Nate's life again last night and allowed him a peaceful sleep.  Yestarday was the LORD's day, the day of rest and He gave Nathan a day to rest as well.  They started to tube feed Nate. (A tube through his mouth to his stomach) This is to help build up his calories and give him some nutrition.  They also had to place a bite guard in Nates mouth, he kept clamping down and biting on his breathing tube.  We can see Nates personnality shinning through here in his perseverence and determination.  Yestarday morning they went in and stiched up a few more arteries that were bleeding and at time of writting, the bleeding has slowed to seeping.

Yestarday they were also able to wean Nate off his blood pressure medication and God has graciously allowed Nates blood pressure to remain stable. They have also started to remove more fluid build up via dialysis and Nate has tolerated this as well. As I write this it brings it even closer to home how our Heavenly Father cares for His covenant children.

Nathan is not "out of the woods" medically speaking, there are many obsticles that as per the doctors he must still over come and still may happen, but we are thankful that it is God directing all things.

Nate is still at risk for further spread of infection and many other complications but even as I write I am reminded we must turn to the present time and be thankful for how God has been gracious to Nate.  We must be thankful for all things even in difficult times when I struggle with the questions and the concern and worry.

I am so thankful that God has given us the communion of saints, your prayers are coveted and your words of encouragement are such a blessing.  May our Heavenly Father strengthen each of you as you struggle with the questions.   Turn to Him in prayer and petition.

"The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble.  He cares for those who trust in Him."  Nahum 1:7

We wish you much strength and patience as you endure this trial. May the Lord uphold you with his Word and Spirit. This is a poem that has helped us in the past and we wanted to share it with you.

I do not know what lies ahead
    The Way I cannot see.
Yet One stands near to be my guide,
He'll show the way to me.

I do not know how many days
Of life are mine to spend
But One who knows and cares for me,
Will keep me to the end.

I do not know the course ahead,
What joys and griefs are there
But One is near who fully knows,
    I'll trust His loving care.

I know who holds the future,
And I know He holds my hand,
With God things don't just happen,
    Everything by Him is planned.

    So as I face tommorrow,
With its problems large and small,
I'll trust the God of miracles,
    Give to Him my all.

Remembering you in thought and prayer.

  32. As we read your posts and the responses from the communion of Saints, we stand in awe of our Faithful God. He is the one who is holding you up, as you give such a wonderful testimony to all your readers of the strength and peace you receive from Him. Our fervent plea, along with the numerous others, is that Nathan may regain his health and that you may together serve Him here. Above all we pray, that as we acknowledge that God's ways are unfathomable and perfect, and His love immeasurable, that you have true peace while your Guide travels with you down this difficult road.

  37. In Mark, where Jesus tells the disciples, "Let us go to the other side." Christ knew there would be a storm, but he promised them help! Aileen, Christ is on that boat with you and He's promised that to you too! Hang on. He loves you/Nathan...He will sustain you both...HIS GRACE WILL ABOUND AND IS SUFFICIENT!! It’s amazing to see how far the ripples of Nathan’s circumstances have extended in the lives of so many! Our thoughts & prayers are with you & your families during this difficult time. Remember Psalms 46:1 "God is our refuge & strength, a very present help in time of trouble." May God comfort you, your children, and Nathan with love & peace as only HE can.
