"I'll thank Thee O my God and Saviour,
And praise Thee in my even song.
The sun may set but Thy great favour
Shalt Thou through darkest night prolong.
Thy help and grace were ever near us;
More then a father didst Thou care.
Thou Fount of blessing, Thou dost hear us;
Thy wonderous mercies I declare." Hymn 63:1

This song speaks so clearly now, He has through darkest night been there, He does care more then a father.

Nathan had a 'good' night last night.  They seem to have gotten his breathing a little more under control, but have had to give him medication for pain and sedation. Nate did not need any more blood products through the night and his hemoglobin has come up a bit.
I'm not sure what the plan is for Nate today but hopefully it is to let his body rest and get some strength.

Much thanks for your continued prayers.
Please hold us in your prayers and pray for the hands of the doctors and nurses as well.

"I know in whom my hope is founded
Through ever-changing day and night.
Thou hast me with Thy love surrounded;
Thou art my Rock, I trust Thy might.
When once life's evening veils enshround me,
 I'll bring, though worn by ills and strife,
For every day Thou hast allowed me
Thee higher praise, O God of life!"  Hymn 63:2

  9. Praise God! So thankful that his hgb is stabilizing at this point. And are you able to get a little rest now too my dear? ;) As a nurse you know that in order to be a good care giver, you must also be well rested and take care of yourself. We continue to pray for strength and healing for Nate and also that you may have peace of mind and be able to rest well as you are needed by his bedside. Julie and Brian Kemper

  12. After reading your post this morning from lastnight, our children and I went to the Lord in prayer thanking Him for his mercies and blessings. We walked to the bus singing "Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow". You are continually in our thoughts and prayers. May the Lord continue to grant you, your family and friends as well as the medical staff strength, peace, guidance and much comfort in knowing that He is with you. We will pray this for Nathan also and that He will be granted healing.

  22. VESSEL OF GRACE!
    Based on Psalm 56.

    Bottle of Tears in HEAVEN?
    How can that be?
    We are supposed to be happy there,
    Are we not?
    No more pain?
    ONLY GAIN?
    Unanswered Prayers?
    I thought there was a SAVIOUR,
    A SAVIOUR -
    Who cared enough to die for me?
    A SAVIOUR who died for you?
    Tell me please,
    How can this be?
    In HEAVEN;
    GOD has a bottle of tears.
    Actually, this bottle is a vessel of
    Unanswered Prayers.
    LORD,
    While living in this world of thorns,
    Help me to see,
    Through glasses of Faith,
    ALWAYS JESUS!
    The ROSE who died for me!
    Though undeserving,
    If I persevere,
    This bottle of tears,
    Will become a crown of JEWELS?
    Hard to believe, you say?
    That may be - yes, even sometimes for me.
    All we need though, besides a truly repentant heart, is,
    A faith the size of a tiny mustard seed, t’will gain for us
    A crown of JEWELS -
    Received only through a forgiving GOD by HIS
    UN-MATCHLESS GRACE through faith!
    This Bottle of Tears,
    A Vessel of Unanswered Prayers,
    Let me say that rather,
    This Bottle of Tears,
    Is a vessel of UN-ANSWERED PRAYERS,
    Yet to be!
    I BELIEVE in the ROSE that once was dead,
    This ROSE is now living to set truly repentant sinners,
    Even I, free!
    THIS ROSE came into this world of thorns,
    To take all of HIS children to their Eternal REST,
    To HEAVEN, where we, HIS children will find out
    At last,
    That our HEAVENLY FATHER cared enough to send us
    HIS VERY BEST!!
